Includes the PDF and all takeoff marks. Projects saves to this browser.
Practice takeoff with sample files. Your measurements are local; use Backups → Download backup for a portable copy.
Two simple, invented sheets for learning scale, length, area and counts.
25 sheets · 2.54 MB. Floor plans, elevations, foundation, sections, details and schedules. Opens on A1.2, the first-floor plan.
Educational sample by Jay Osborne / Amatect. Source · CC BY-SA 3.0. Original PDF unchanged. Credit the author, identify changes and use the same or a compatible licence when distributing adaptations of this drawing.
Samples are for practice and demonstration. Use written dimensions to calibrate each measured sheet; no takeoff quantities are supplied or validated.
Reports and downloads are prepared on your device. Use Backups → Download backup to keep an editable copy. Team file uploads are separate explicit actions.
Private to this browser and device. Sign-in is optional.
Library saves include the PDF, marks, layers, settings and last sheet. They stay on this device and are separate from account preferences. Clearing browser data removes them. Keep downloaded backups for important work. Trash is recoverable and still uses space.
This removes its saved takeoff from this device. It cannot be restored from Trash. Download a backup first if you need to keep it. Other projects using the same PDF are kept.
Pick the two ends of a known dimension, then enter its real length.
Applies to this entire sheet. Different-scale details need separate sheets in this first version. Verify against another known dimension.

Workspace: Next step suggests what to check without completing it for you. Import PDF marks is beside that prompt. Review totals opens grouped quantities. Export & share contains all report, register, CSV and marked-PDF options. Backups contains Download backup and Restore backup; Projects is your local library.
Import PDF marks: use Import PDF marks below Next step to preview embedded area and straight-length measurements. Import scans support up to 500 measurement marks, shared across All sheets or limited to the Current sheet. PDFs up to 40 MB and saved takeoffs up to 10,000 marks are supported; complex drawings or device limits may allow fewer. An incomplete scan shows a prominent warning; omitted marks are not part of the import. Choose All sheets or Current sheet; use Current sheet for later pages when a scan reaches its limit. Select marks and confirm before importing. Each quantity uses its own embedded scale and is saved as an editable override; page calibration stays unchanged. Repeats start at 1, and all imported marks need review. Unsupported geometry, counts, custom columns/formulas and flattened artwork are not imported. Existing PDF artwork is preserved, so original appearances may remain visible underneath the imported overlay.
Mark labels: use Labels above the drawing to show all labels, only the selected mark label, or hide them. Text changes label size. Mark shapes and quantities stay available; these browser-only view settings do not affect exported PDFs or reports. Text already embedded in the original PDF is unchanged.
Touch navigation: pinch with two fingers to zoom around their centre. Drag with one finger to move the drawing. Tap to select or place a mark with the active tool. In Suggest, one-finger dragging draws the reference box; two fingers still zoom.
Revisions: use Compare beside the sheet controls to open an updated PDF. Choose original and updated sheets, align two matching points in the same order, then fade between them. Create revision takeoff saves the original and a separate one-sheet project in Projects. Only marks from the selected original sheet are copied; all start as Needs review. Verify the alignment and copied scale. Clear Needs review in each item after checking it, or use Review next item. This is manual visual comparison; other sheets stay in the original project.
Missions: use Mission beside Items and Totals for drawing takeoff, combined 2D + 3D quantities or shared coordination. Check steps yourself and download the outcome. Personal progress is saved on this device for your account, exact PDF and shared snapshot; it is separate from the shared team mission.
Projects: open Projects to name and save the current takeoff in your local library. Open earlier projects to resume their last sheet; edits save automatically. Duplicate creates an independent copy. Move to Trash is recoverable. Download backup creates a portable project file. All PDFs and takeoff data stay in this browser, separate from optional account preferences.
Layers and totals: choose a layer for new marks. Layers can be shown or hidden without changing full quantities. In Totals, matching item names and measurement types are grouped; filter by current sheet or visible layers, highlight a group, move it to another layer or export that table. Downloaded backups keep all layers and their visibility. The footer summary, full Quantity CSV and Marked PDF always include hidden layers.
Measurement units: choose Metres or Feet beside Quantity takeoff. Lengths, areas, input dimensions and per-unit rates convert together; estimate totals stay the same. Your project remembers the choice. Calibration can use mm, m, ft or in independently. Weight stays in kilograms.
Snap: turn on Snap to pick vector PDF corners and line intersections within 10 screen pixels. An orange marker shows the exact point. Hold Alt to place a point freely. Scanned pages support existing mark points only; crowded areas use manual placement and complex pages fall back to mark points to keep the viewer responsive. Verify every measured point.
Navigation: mouse wheel scrolls; Ctrl/Cmd + wheel zooms. Pan tool drags the sheet. Fit centres it.
Shortcuts: Esc cancels the active drawing; Enter finishes an area; Delete removes selection; Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes; Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z redoes. Shortcuts pause while editing fields.
Example: the schematic plan is invented for testing. Presets are item labels, not specifications or market prices.
PDFs up to 40 MB are supported. Device capacity and PDF complexity affect performance. Use saved project files for important work. This version supports one scale per page and manual takeoff; it does not read specifications or design structural members.
